BritBox January 2022 Schedule: New TV Additions

BritBox has unveiled its January 2022 lineup, including the premiere of Hope Street, a BritBox Original crime drama set in Northern Ireland; Part 2 of Vera Season 11 starring award-winner Brenda Blethyn; and Father Brown Season 9.

Just in time for a New Year’s binge, Vera S1, 2 & 6 arrive home on BritBox.

· Season 1: Vera (Brenda Blethyn Kate & Koji, Secrets & Lies) takes on her first murder case since the death of her father. Julie Armstrong is distraught when she discovers the lifeless body of her teenage son, Luke. He has been strangled and then carefully placed in a bath decorated with wildflowers. Vera and Sergeant Joe Ashworth have barely begun their investigation when another body turns up and the signs point to a serial killer. When Luke’s sister Laura provides a vital clue and then goes missing, Vera and Joe have a race against time to find the murderer and save Laura’s life.

· Season 2: Driven by work and her own personal demons, Vera, along with her trusted and long-suffering colleague, Sergeant Joe Ashworth, is faced with a number of daunting cases. She delves into the unsettling private life of an old colleague, attempts to break through the code of secrecy in the army, and copes with the impact on a family torn apart by addiction.

· Season 6: Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope, Detective Sergeant Aiden Healy (Kenny Doughty) and their team carry out various murder investigations including the deaths of an elderly grandmother, a local teenager, and a hit-and-run victim.

This New Year is all about reconciliation and fresh starts in the Brown household, but not everyone seems to have got the message. Grandad’s brother Mickey is fresh out of prison and decides to stop by for a visit. Everyone except Grandad is suspicious when he shows up asking for 5,000 euros to invest in a South African gold mine. Winnie, inspired by Cathy’s book, is on a daredevil mission to change the trajectory of her life, while Mrs. Brown’s boys are forced to have a heart to heart.
