John Cena Continues His Comedy Run in Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s The Nest

Next year is going to be full of laughs for WWE Superstar John Cena. Besides appearing in Judd Apatow and Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck, scheduled for July 24, 2015, it’s being reported that the wrestler will also be joining Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s comedy The Nest, also for Universal Pictures.

Directed by Jason Moore of Pitch Perfect, Deadline suggests that Cena will be playing his first villain role in the movie about two sisters who throw one last party in their parents’ house before it goes up for sale. Written by Paula Pell, the cast also includes James Brolin, Ike Barinholtz, Maya Rudolph and John Leguizamo, and it’s produced by Fey along with Jay Roach and John Lyons.

This is an interesting career change for Cena, who made his first foray into acting with action films like The Marine and 12 Rounds, both for WWE Films, while still competing regularly as a WWE headliner.

The Nest is scheduled for release on November 18, 2015.
