Deadline reports that Fox has picked up the film rights to Boom! Studios comic series Malignant Man from Saw and Fast 7 director James Wan. Wan created the series and co-wrote it with Michael Alan Nelson in 2011 with art by Piotr Kowalski and will develop the film with an eye to direct. Running for just four issues, the series is described as follows:
“Alan Gates, a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis, is resigned to his fate, until he discovers that his tumor is actually a mysterious parasite! Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past.”
