The studio confirmed that director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman will be on hand and joined by some of the cast of the upcoming film for a panel on October 8, 2021. The panel will cover the upcoming film and the Ghostbusters franchise as a whole and will include “never-before-seen” clips from the film itself.
Due to the franchise’s insane popularity and the film’s overall anticipation, it’s safe to say this will be one of the must-see panels of the convention, so if you’ll be on hand, you may want to try and secure a seat. Tickets for New York Comic Con sold out almost immediately earlier this year, but ReedPOP — the organizers behind the event — have made more badges available recently.
In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, in hopes of starting a new life, a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town to move into a beaten-down farmhouse in Oklahoma that they’ve inherited from their grandfather. However, they soon discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.
A group of Emmy nominees will lead the film. Carrie Coon will play Callie, Mckenna Grace is playing Phoebe, Finn Wolfhard is Trevor, and Paul Rudd is going to be Mr. Grooberson. It will also feature the return of original Ghostbusters stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts as they reprise their iconic roles as Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, Dana Barrett, and Janine Melnitz, respectively.
