Ahead of the look, Laura Bailey — who plays Lieutenant Polina Petrova in the upcoming game — joined Geoff Keighley on stage, where she debuted one of the missions that stars Polina. In the mission, Polina is shown trying to escape a town that looks to be overrun by enemy forces, showcasing some of the game’s upcoming cover mechanics, as well as some of the weapons players, will be using both in the campaign and in multiplayer.

Developed by Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: Vanguard takes players back to the era of World War II, with the game set to highlight various special force soldiers as they face an emerging threat at the end of the war. According to a blog post when the game was announced, Vanguard’s campaign features four major theaters of war, an online Multiplayer mode that has 20 maps available at launch, and some major changes to the Warzone experience. The zombie experience will also be making its way into Vanguard, with a franchise-first crossover coming that continues the story and experience found in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
