Lionsgate has provided ComingSoon.net with an exclusive clip from David Wain’s new spoof on romantic comedies They Came Together, which stars Wain’s frequent leading man Paul Rudd as a corporate businessman who “meets cute” and starts dating the owner of a small candy shop, played by Amy Poehler.
A spoof of modern-day romantic comedies co-written with Michael Showalter of Wet Hot American Summer and “The State,” the movie features an amazing comic cast that includes Cobie Smulders, Max Greenfield (“New Girl”), Bill Hader, Ed Helms and Melanie Lynekie, as well as lots of hilarious cameos.
The clip below is a play on the classic rom-com cliche where the leading man asks his friends for love advice while playing a game of basketball, this one featuring some comedy hoops between a couple of familiar faces from a number of television’s funniest TV shows. You’ll just have to watch the clip to find out who we’re talking about!
They Came Together opens in select cities and on VOD Friday, June 27.
