Paramount+ has officially announced that production on their upcoming Miles Teller-led limited series The Offer has finally begun. The 10-episode series will center around the behind-the-scenes process of making 1972’s The Godfather, with Teller set to portray producer Al Ruddy.

Based on the never-before-seen experiences of Oscar and Golden Globe-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy, The Offer follows Ruddy’s journey in bringing Mario Puzo’s epic crime novel The Godfather to life on the big screen. Joining Teller are Matthew Goode as Robert Evans, Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, Burn Gorman as Charles Bluhdorn, Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt, Justin Chambers as Marlon Brando, and Patrick Gallo as Mario Puzo.
The limited series will also feature Josh Zuckerman, Meredith Garretson, Nora Arnezeder, Paul McCrane, Anthony Skordi, Jake Cannavale, James Madio, Michael Rispoli, Stephanie Koenig, Lou Ferrigno, Frank John Hughes, and Danny Nucci.

The Offer is written and executive produced by Nikki Toscano and Michael Tolkin, with Toscano also serving as the showrunner. Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher has also signed on to helm the project. Executive producers are Teller, Ruddy, and Leslie Grief.
The classic 1972 film was directed by Francis Ford Coppola from a screenplay written by Puzo. It was led by Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, where it had earned three major Oscar awards out of seven nominations, including Best Picture. Due to its success, it spawned two more sequels in 1974 and 1990.
