In a recent interview with Variety, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that production on Ryan Coogler’s highly-anticipated MCU sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has finally begun at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta. Feige also went on to reveal that the first film’s original cast is all set to reprise their roles, which includes Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira. He expressed that even though it is an emotional time for the cast and crew to be back on set without the late Chadwick Boseman, they are still very committed and excited to bring Wakanda back to the fans.
“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad,” Feige said before the Black Widow Global Fan Event in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. “But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently slated to hit theaters on July 8, 2022, nearly two years following the untimely passing of titular star and acclaimed actor Chadwick Boseman, who died at the age of 43 after his four-year-long private battle with colon cancer.
In addition to the MCU sequel, Coogler is also currently developing an untitled Black Panther spinoff series for Disney+, which is being described as an origin series.
