J.K. Simmons has portrayed some incredible characters throughout his career, but one of his most iconic roles came in Sami Raimi’s Spider-Man franchise, where he played J. Jonah Jameson. Simmons’ role was so popular that he even got the chance to reprise the role of Jameson in the recent Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Speaking to Den of Geek about playing Jameson again, Simmons spoke about just how fun the role was, and how important getting to know and work with Sam Raimi was to him.
“To have the opportunity to kind of do a reboot of the character, I was eager to hang on to the things I really loved about it and totally open to letting go of some of that, and realizing we are in a more updated version of that universe,” Simmons said. “Hopefully, we found the sweet spot there.”
Simmons also touched on his original portrayal of Jameson, and what getting to work with Sam Raimi meant to him during his career. Needless to say, Simmons is a huge fan of the iconic director.
“Those movies with Sam will always be big highlights of my career and my life,” Simmons said. “Sam is one of my favorite directors and human beings.”

It’s unclear if J.K. Simmons will ever reprise his role as Jameson again, but Spider-Man: No Way Home is rumored to feature multiple figures from the past Spider-Man films, so it’s entirely possible that Simmons can show up once more. If he does, Jameson will no doubt be wanting to get his hands on any and all Spider-Man figures that pop up.
