Netflix has finally set the release date for their newest action-thriller film titled Kate, starring Scott Pilgrim vs. the World alum Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Set in Tokyo, Japan, the film has been scheduled to make its debut on Friday, September 10. The date announcement also came with the release of a brief clip which you can check out below, providing us a glimpse of how ruthless Winstead’s titular character can be when you cross her.

Kate follows the story of a ruthless criminal operative who gets poisoned and finds out she has less than 24 hours to live. This sets her on a manhunt through the streets of Tokyo so she can exact vengeance on those who poisoned her before she succumbs to its effects and dies. However, in the process of her bloody revenge, she forms an unexpected bond with the daughter of one of her past victims.

The film will be led by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who is no stranger to the action genre as she previously appeared in Live Free or Die Hard, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Gemini Man, and most recent one was last year’s Birds of Prey. Joining her are Woody Harrelson, Michiel Huisman, Tadanobu Asano, Jun Kunimura, Miyavi, Miku Martineau, and Kazuya Tanabe.

Kate is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan (Huntsman: The Winter’s War) from a script written by Umair Aleem. It is produced by Screen Arcade and 87eleven, with Bryan Unkeless, (I, Tonya), David Leitch (Deadpool 2), Scott Morgan, and Kelly McCormick set as producers.
