Barrera will star as Liv, a razor-sharp Manhattan attorney who finds herself profoundly out of her comfort zone when her small plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness and she must battle for survival.
The actress has previously starred in the Starz series Vida from creator Tanya Saracho. Following her appearance in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights, releasing in theaters and on HBO Max on June 11, Barrera will then star in the next installment of the Scream franchise alongside Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid, followed by the modern-day reimagining of the classical opera Carmen.
