The first official photos from Paramount Pictures’ upcoming G.I. Joe spinoff film Snake Eyes have been revealed (via EW), providing us our first look at the main cast led by Henry Golding as the titular ninja commando. The photos, which you can check out below, also highlighted Andrew Koji’s Storm Shadow, Samara Weaving’s Scarlett, Haruka Abe’s Akiko, and Money Heist star Úrsula Corberó as the Baroness.
Following the film’s reshoots last March, the studio has again recently made changes to its release date for the fifth time now. Originally scheduled for an October 22 release, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is currently slated to arrive in theaters on July 23, followed by a streaming debut on Paramount+ after 45 days of its theatrical release. Its current July release date sees the film going up against two different genres of movies with Sony’s fourth animated installment to the Hotel Transylvania films titled Transformia, and M. Night Shyamalan’s newest thriller Old.

Snake Eyes is the ninja commando known for his deadly ability with a sword and trench knives. However, he is also a highly skilled martial artist who can be just as dangerous unarmed. Snake-Eyes was living in solitude in the High Sierras when he was recruited to join G.I. Joe. His real name and backstory have long been sources of mystery. As a result of being caught in a helicopter explosion, he is heavily scarred and mute. To hide his face, he usually appears in a black balaclava and matching bodysuit.
The film stars Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) as the titular ninja assassin, Andrew Koji (Warrior) as Storm Shadow, Iko Uwais (The Raid, Stuber) as Hard Master, Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) as Scarlett, Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist) as Baroness, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Takehiro Hira as Kenta and Steven Allerick (The Expanse) as the father of Snake Eyes.
