David O. Russell’s forthcoming untitled project has found another major cast member in the form of Golden Globe-nominee John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman, Tenet), who joins an ensemble roster that already includes Oscar winner Christian Bale (Ford v. Ferrari), Oscar nominee Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) and Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), according to Deadline.

Russell will write and direct the project, which teams him with Bale for the third time after the two joined forces on The Fighter (for which Bale won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor) and American Hustle. As he’s previously stated, project details are being kept under wraps, though sources report that the film is slated to begin production in Los Angeles this coming January.
Robbie was last seen in Birds of Prey, which opened at number one at the worldwide box office with $80 million and went on to gross over $200 million and garnered very positive reviews from critics. Robbie also recently featured in the Academy Award-nominated films Bombshell and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She also lends her voice talents to the upcoming Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, and is also gearing up for the release of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which is slated for an August 6 release.

Jordan becomes the third comic book genre vet to join the cast, having starred in the critically demolished Fantastic Four in 2015 and the massively acclaimed 2018 MCU installment Black Panther as antagonist Killmonger. He was most recently seen in the well-received legal biopic Just Mercy alongside Jamie Foxx (Baby Driver) and will next be seen in the Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse, which is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2021.
