Following the Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist‘s world premiere last year at the 2019 Venice Film Festival, Shudder has successfully acquired the rights to director Alexandre O. Philippe’s upcoming documentary film which will be available for streaming on November 19, exclusively on the horror streamer. This news also came with the release of the docufilm’s official trailer which you can now check out below, featuring the Oscar-winning filmmaker as he gives an in-depth look at his 1973 horror classic film.

A lyrical and spiritual cinematic essay on The Exorcist, Leap of Faith explores the uncharted depths of William Friedkin’s mind’s eye, the nuances of his filmmaking process, and the mysteries of faith and fate that have shaped his life and filmography.
“Leap of Faith continues our commitment to bringing the best programming about horror, thriller and the supernatural to our members,” Shudder’s GM, Craig Engler said in a statement (via Deadline). “Alexander has created an unparalleled look at one of the greatest horror films of all time, giving viewers direct access to William Friedkin in this can’t-miss documentary.”
The documentary is directed by Swiss filmmaker Alexandre O. Philippe, who is known for his previous docufilm such as Doc of the Dead, 78/52 and Memory: The Origins of Alien which all centered around the filmmaking process of a specific horror film.
