Since then, the character’s success on the page, the small screen, and large have made all of his titles household names. The story of an orphan boy who grew up and used his inheritance to save the citizens of Gotham as a vigilante resonated, and continues to resonate with billions. 

To say Batman is iconic is an understatement. In many ways, he is the be-all and end-all superhero—he’s just a dude. A hyper-intelligent, physically-fit dude. Like us, he didn’t come from another planet or gain powers in some freak accident, and that makes us feel capable—maybe we can stand for justice as well?
