Netflix Orders a Resident Evil TV Series From Supernatural EP

It seems that Netflix has finally found a showrunner to bring the Resident Evil series to fruition. Deadline brings word that the popular streaming service has ordered a TV adaptation of Capcom’s survival horror game. Andrew Dabb, who has executive produced The CW’s Supernatural, will work on an eight-episode season together with Constantin Film, the German studio best known for the Resident Evil movies.

“‘Resident Evil’ is my favorite game of all time,” said Dabb in a statement. “I’m incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world. For every type of Resident Evil fan, including those joining us for the first time, the series will be complete with a lot of old friends, and some things (bloodthirsty, insane things) people have never seen before.”

According to the reports, the series will develop in two timelines featuring the same protagonist. The first one will follow a couple of fourteen-year-old sisters who have just moved New Raccoon City. Soon enough, Jade and Billie Wesker will discover that there is more in the city than meets the eye. Even their father is concealing some dangerous dark secrets. In the second timeline, Jade is in her thirties. In a future where the T-virus has infected plenty of people and animals, she has to do what it takes to survive while the ghosts of the past are still haunting her.
