Ahead of the highly-anticipated theatrical release of Sony Pictures‘ Ghostbusters: Afterlife on March 2021, the original Ghostbusters cast are officially set to reunite on the next episode of Josh Gad’s quarantine show Reunited Apart. The announcement also came with the release of the teaser which you can check out below, featuring a preview of the long-awaited Ghostbusters reunion!

Joining Gad in the new episode are Ivan and Jason Reitman along with Bill Murray (Groundhog Day), Dan Aykroyd (Driving Miss Daisy), Ernie Hudson (Oz), Sigourney Weaver (Alien), and Annie Potts (Toy Story). Set to debut this Monday, June 15, the virtual reunion will be benefiting Bryan Stevenson’s Equal Justice Initiation as a way to support the fight against racial injustices that are still clearly prevalent in today’s society.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife will focus on a new family with single mom Callie and her two kids, Trevor and Phoebe who move into a beaten-down farmhouse in Oklahoma only to discover that there’s something strange in the neighborhood. Unexplained quakes shake the town. There’s an old mine nearby that bears the name of Ivo Shandor, who built the Manhattan high-rise in the 1984 film that channeled the forces of evil.
Jason Reitman (Juno, Young Adult, Tully) directed the new film, taking over from his father Ivan Reitman who helmed the first two and will produce. The third installment will star McKenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd. Original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts are all expected to return for the sequel.

Hosted by Gad, every episode of Reunited Apart will showcase one of the many incredible charities working to provide resources to those most desperate for them during these incredibly difficult times. Previous episodes featured reunions from the casts of The Goonies, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings and Splash.
Reunited Apart with Josh Gad is directed by James Merryman who co-produces along with Meghan Monaco. The web series is executive produced by Taylor Stuewe and edited by Will Newell. The theme song is sung by Kate Anderson who co-created the theme song along with Elyssa Samsel. Opening credits are by Ryan Kravetz.
