What the what? Ok, fellow couch potatoes, you got me. I officially have no idea how the world works anymore. This week’s Top 20 Streaming Films went absolutely bananas, so let’s dive right in and see the what behind the what the what.
Birds of Prey just made mince meat of the competition, leaping all the way from No. 8, where it had stayed for most of its digital run, to the No. 1 spot. The Margot Robbie action flick usurped Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot, which enjoyed one week in the top spot but now slips to No. 2 in the rankings just ahead of No. 3 Bad Boys for Life.
On the one hand, I’m shocked. On the other — well done, people! I, for one, enjoyed Birds of Prey. I thought it was an edgy, quirky comic book film, even if it probably should have featured Batman or Joker in some capacity.
The Invisible Man finally appeared — do you know how long I’ve waited to write that? Apparently, a $14.99 purchase tag works a lot better than a $19.99 rental fee.
Yellowstone Season 2 also randomly popped up at No. 20, while Justice League Dark: Apokolips War dropped off the list altogether. Props to you all for bringing back Ford v Ferrari (No. 19). Love that flick.
Finally, the Robert Downey Jr. dud Dolittle continues to linger, as does Call of the Wild (No. 4). I don’t get it, but to each their own.
