During an interview with Harpers Bazaar, Masters of the Universe star Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Fosters) revealed that Sony’s live-action He-Man project is expected to begin filming this summer.
The outlet wrote: “For the Masters of the Universe, Centineo, in preparation to play He-Man, bulked up 30 pounds of muscle last year (eating 11 eggs for breakfast on the regular), only to then shed the weight because production pushed filming back to this summer.”

The film follows Prince Adam (Centineo), who transforms into a warrior called He-Man and becomes the last hope for a magical land called Eternia, ravaged by technology and the evil Skeletor.
Masters of the Universe was originally scheduled to hit theaters on March 5, 2021, but the slot was then taken by Sony Pictures’ Tom Holland-led Uncharted film, which was pushed back from its December 18, 2020 release date.
Noah Centineo was cast in the lead role of the film, taking on the new live-action version of He-Man. Dolph Lundgren portrayed He-Man in 1987 for the first Masters of the Universe film. However, the characters date back to 1982, when Mattel debuted the Masters of the Universe toyline. The subsequent He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon series made its titular hero into an ’80s icon. A reboot series aired on Cartoon Network in 2002.

Iron Man scribes Matt Holloway and Art Marcum rewrote the most recent draft of the film, with the earlier screenplay penned by David S. Goyer and Christopher L. Yost. Aaron and Adam Nee are going to direct the movie.
