In the previous episode of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Caliban tricked Sabrina and trapped her in the Ninth Circle of Hell, while the pagans used Harvey as a virgin sacrifice to resurrect the Green Man. In Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 3 Episode 8, time travel helps Sabrina undo the end of the world.
Back in Time
Sabrina from the future woke and replaced herself in the Ninth Circle of Hell. Time had passed differently there, so decades into the future, the world had gone overgrown. The pagans had defeated Caliban and his armies from hell. Ambrose survived because of the time egg, and Blackwood, with the mark of Cain, couldn’t be killed and worshipped the eldritch terrors in the Academy.
The power from the Unholy Regalia with the time egg and the stones in the Academy helped Sabrina go back in time, before the pagans had resurrected the Green Man. Sabrina brought the coven and her friends to safety, and Zelda woke from Limbo. The coven called upon Hecate to resurrect Hilda, and they became the Order of Hecate.
The Battle for Greendale
To keep the people of Greendale away from the carnival, the coven sang a lullaby to put the town to sleep. Robin brought Pesta, disguised as Ms. Wardwell, to be the virgin sacrifice for the Green Man. She killed the plant before the Green Man could be resurrected, and the coven fought the pagans. Roz saved Harvey from Nagaina. Hilda used a poppet to kill Circe for the spider curse she inflicted upon her. Prudence killed Pan as he threatened to drive Zelda and Ambrose mad.
Zelda persuaded Mambo Marie to stay with the coven. Robin promised to stay in Greendale.
Time Paradox
Sabrina was supposed to close the time loop by going back to the Ninth Circle of Hell. However, she had a crazy idea and went back further, to before Caliban had tricked her. She convinced her past self to become Queen of Hell while she would live on Earth to be a normal teenager. When she arrived back at the Spellman house, Ambrose knew that she had messed with time in some way. When Sabrina explained, he worried about the consequences of the time paradox that she created. Sabrina admitted that Lilith could be a problem. However, she reasoned that it was possible for her to have it both ways.
Birthing
Prudence found Dorcas, murdered by Agatha. She blamed Ambrose for persuading her to spare Blackwood’s life in Scotland. Despite defeating the pagans, she and Nick comforted each other.
Blackwood, with Judas, Judith, and Agatha, performed a ritual with the time egg. It had opened, and the creature inside it was gone.
