Ethan Hawke is getting ready to re-team with his Gattaca and Lord of War helmer. Deadline today brings word that the Before Midnight star will headline an untitled thriller from writer-director Andrew Niccol.
The film, which is looking to start production in February of 2014, will feature Hawke as a drone pilot operating from Las Vegas who begins to question the value in fighting such a disconnected war.
In addition to the critically acclaimed Before Midnight, Hawke starred this year in both The Purge and Getaway. He can be seen coming up in Michael and Peter Spierig’s sci-fi actioner Predestination.
The Niccols project is being developed by Voltage Pictures with Nicolas Chartier and Zev Foreman producing.
