Following a two-minute sneak preview of the film during this past Sunday’s “Breaking Bad” finale (if you missed the video, check it out here), Columbia Pictures has announced plans for theatrical sneak preview showings of Paul Greengrass’ latest, Captain Phillips, in theaters across the country this Saturday, October 5. The film will screen early in over 800 theaters and you can find one near you by clicking here or on the image at the bottom of this page.
The thriller stars Tom Hanks, Catherine Keener, Max Martini, Yul Vazquez, Michael Chernus, Chris Mulkey, Corey Johnson, David Warshofsky, John Magaro and Angus MacInnes.
Officially opening October 11, the film tells the true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years. Captain Phillips is and based upon the book, “A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea,” by Richard Phillips with Stephan Talty.
