Black Panther 2: Martin Freeman Says Production Could Begin in 2021

Last month at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that they are indeed developing Black Panther 2. Feige didn’t reveal any further details about it or which phase the highly-anticipated sequel be a part of, but now we may know when to expect it.

In a recent interview with Uproxx, Emmy Award-winning actor Martin Freeman was asked about Black Panther 2‘s production date, revealing that the sequel might start filming in 2021.

“The last I heard, we won’t be doing it next year. So, it might be 2021 when we’re making the next Black Panther. That’s all I know. “

Should the sequel indeed go into production in 2021, the film could arrive on one of three already set Marvel Studios release dates including February 18, 2022, May 6, 2022, or July 29, 2022. The first Black Panther arrived in February of 2018, but given the success of the sequel it’s possible Marvel could position it in May instead, or perhaps keep with tradition and release it in February again.
