Adam Sandler Eyes Tom McCarthy’s The Cobbler

Tom McCarthy, the writer-director behind The Station Agent, The Visitor and Win Win, may have found a new leading man in Adam Sandler. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the Grown Ups 2 star is negotiating to star in McCarthy’s latest, The Cobbler.

Although no official plot details are yet available for The Cobbler, the trade suggest that Sandler would play the titular cobbler who “has the ability to metaphysically step into the lives of the people whose shoes he repairs.”

Sandler will next reteam with his 50 First Dates and The Wedding Singer co-star Drew Barrymore in The Familymoon, set to hit theaters May 23, 2014.

Mary Jane Skalski will produce The Cobbler.
