Following the departure of the original film’s helmer, Seth Gordon, last month, Warner Bros. Pictures has, according to The Hollywood Reporter, signed Sean Anders to direct Horrible Bosses 2. He’ll be joined on the project by his writing partner, John Morris, who will serve as an executive producer.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote the 2011 original, are drafting the sequel. The original film starred Bateman, Sudeikis and Day as a group of friends that decide to kill off each other’s bosses (played by Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrel and Kevin Spacey).
It was confirmed earlier this year that the core cast of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis will be back, with Jamie Foxx expected to return as well.
Anders, whose directing credits include Sex Drive and That’s My Boy, worked alongside Morris on the screenplays to We’re the Millers, Hot Tub Time Machine and Mr. Popper’s Penguins. They also contributed to the upcoming Dumb and Dumber To.
