Christina Hendricks is the latest name to join the cast of the upcoming Dark Places, based on the novel by Gillian Flynn. Deadline reports that the “Mad Men” star will join the previously-announced Charlize Theron, Chloe Moretz, Nicholas Hoult and Sterling Jerins in the Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah’s Key) film.
The book, published in 2010, is officially described as follows:

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas. As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survivedand famously testified that her fifteen-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Piece by piece, the unimaginable truth emerges, and Libby finds herself right back where she startedon the run from a killer.
In addition to her work on the hit AMC series, Hendricks has recently appeared on the big screen in projects like Ginger & Rosa and Struck By Lightning. She’ll soon star in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster, and provide a leading voice for the forthcoming animated project, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy.
