Universal Pictures has set the upcoming comedy Townies for release on May 9, 2014. Directed by Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek) the film stars Zac Efron, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.
Townies follows a young couple (Rogen and Byrne) suffering from arrested development who are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby. Efron plays the head of the frat with whom Rogen and Byrne’s characters quickly form a rivalry.
The May 9 release date puts Townies up against Jon Favreau’s microbudget comedy Chef, the animated fantasy release Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return and Lionsgate’s Tyler Perry’s Single Moms Club.
