Toy Story 4 will feature Don Rickles

Toy Story 4 Will Feature Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head

Even though comedian Don Rickles passed away in 2017, his voice will live on as Mr. Potato Head in the upcoming Toy Story 4. Director Josh Cooley confirmed on Twitter yesterday that Rickles will still provide the voice of the iconic toy in the upcoming sequel, saying he’s “honored he’s in TS4.

Unfortunately, it’s been reported that Rickles hadn’t recorded any new lines for the film prior to his death, so the production will likely use existing audio he’d recorded for the prior three films. Still, it’s nice to know his curmudgeonly voice will live on in one more Pixar outing.

Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in Toy Story 4, welcoming new friends to Bonnie’s room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. But Forky insists that he is NOT a toy! An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. Unfortunately, every time he tries to get away, someone yanks him back into an adventure he’d rather skip.

Woody’s journey in Toy Story 4 also includes a visit to a carnival where he meets Ducky and Bunny, two carnival prizes who are eager to be won. But when their plans are rudely interrupted by Woody and his friends, they find themselves on an unexpected adventure with a group of toys who have no idea what it feels like to be tacked to a prize wall.

Keanu Reeves, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele join newcomer Tony Hale in the voice cast alongside returning cast members Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Annie Potts, Patricia Arquette and Joan Cusack.

Toy Story 4 ventures to U.S. theaters on June 21.
