Arriving in a limited release this Friday, A24’s The Bling Ring marks the latest project from writer-director Sofia Coppola. An in-depth exploration of modern vanity and greed, the film tells an all-too-true tale of the celebrity-obsessed culture surrounding modern Hollywood.
Starring Emma Watson, Leslie Mann, Taissa Farmiga, Claire Julien, Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Georgia Rock and Gavin Rossdale, The Bling Ring follows a group of young thieves who, targeting the homes of celebrities like Paris Hilton, stole more than $3 million in personal items.
ComingSoon.net sat down with Broussard, Chang, Farmiga and Julien to discuss working with Coppola, the balance between fiction and actual events and how each found the humanity (or lack thereof) in each of their respective characters.
