The VFX Wizards Behind Oz The Great and Powerful

After grossing more than $490 million at the worldwide box office, Sam Raimi’s Oz The Great Powerful is heading to Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Digital and On-Demand next Tuesday, June 11. To celebrate the film’s release on home video, ComingSoon.net sat down to speak with actress Joey King and some of the VFX artists that helped bring the fantasy adventure to life.

Set in the early years of the 20th century, the film follows the adventures of Oscar “Oz” Diggs (James Franco), a Kansas showman who’s equal parts magician and con man. His hot air balloon caught in a tornado, Diggs is whisked away to the fantasy realm of Oz where, accompanied by a helpful flying monkey, Finley (Zach Braff) and a little China Girl (Joey King), he must face off against three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams). As he comes to terms with his own shortcomings, Diggs must simultaneously reveal everyone’s true loyalties if he’s to save Oz and find his own way back home.
