Susan Sarandon could be joining Melissa McCarthy in the upcoming comedy Tammy, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which will be directed by McCarthy and her husband/creative partner Ben Falcone, is designed as a road trip comedy, and will star McCarthy as a fast food restaurant employee who, after finding that her husband is cheating on her, quits her job and decides to drive to Mount Rushmore to rediscover herself. As things turn out, though, her decidedly non-PC grandmother insists on making the trip as well.
Sarandon recently starred in That’s My Boy, Cloud Atlas, and Snitch. She can soon be seen in the ensemble comedy The Big Wedding, hitting theaters April 26.
